| The Hurtigruten trip was incredibly beautiful. The new 2003-built Midnatsol is a wonderful ship. There are great views of the fjords, the islands, the sea, the channels, the villages, from everywhere on the ship. It doesn't matter if the weather is cold, hot, wet or whatever, a person can enjoy the trip from inside or outside at any time of day or year. The food was tremendous and the staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. We would recommend it to anyone. I would also recommend an outside cabin with a porthole over an inside cabin because that way, the cruise is always a part of your day or night.
