With its superb beaches, historical attractions and beautiful coral reefs, Antigua provides a host of diversions. It is said that the island contains 365 beaches, one for every day of the year. Antigua maintains its traditional West Indian character, with gingerbread-house style architecture, calypso music and carnival festivities. St John’s has been the administrative capital since the island’s colonisation in 1632, and has been the seat of government since it gained independence in 1981. From the port you can explore the colourful Redcliffe district, with its restored wooden houses, and Heritage Quay with its shopping mall and craft shops. The city has some fine examples of Colonial architecture, including the twin-towered cathedral, built in 1845 and considered one of the finest church buildings in the Caribbean. All coaches in Antigua are operated by smaller vehicles, and commentary will be given by a driver/guide.

Founded by France in 1648, St. Barts is a beloved retreat for celebrities drawn to its waterfront cafés, designer boutiques and pristine beaches. Blending French and Swedish influences, this French-speaking island boasts a picturesque marina framed by hills adorned with charming red-peaked roofs.

Most towns and villages are nestled by stunning beaches, offering the perfect blend of exploration and seaside relaxation.

A visit to Shell Beach is a must. The millions of unique seashells that blanket its shores make for a one-of-a-kind experience. Conveniently located within walking distance from the dock, it’s an easy and rewarding stop.

Gustavia is the capital and main harbor town of Saint Barthélemy in the Caribbean Sea. It is known for its beautiful waterfront, luxury yachts, and charming streets lined with shops and restaurants. The town was named after King Gustav III, reflecting the island’s historical connection to Sweden. Visitors enjoy its scenic beaches, colorful buildings, and relaxed atmosphere. Gustavia is a popular destination for tourists seeking both natural beauty and modern comforts.

Sail into the British Virgin Islands and discover Virgin Gorda, home to The Baths—an extraordinary natural wonder of giant granite boulders forming hidden sea pools and caves. Spend the day exploring this idyllic island, where secluded beaches and crystal-clear waters provide the perfect setting for snorkeling.

Virgin Gorda, or "Fat Virgin," received its name from Christopher Columbus. The explorer envisioned the island as a pregnant woman in a languid recline, with Gorda Peak being her belly and the boulders of the Baths as her toes. Different in topography from Tortola, with an arid landscape covered with scrub brush and cactus, the pace of life is slower here, too. Goats and cattle own the right of way, and the unpretentious friendliness of the people is winning. The top sight (and beach for that matter) is the Baths, which draws scores of cruise-ship passengers and day-trippers to its giant boulders and grottoes that form a perfect snorkeling environment.

Known as the “Pompeii of the Caribbean,” Montserrat’s landscape is defined by its dramatic volcanic history. The island’s capital, Plymouth, was buried in ash during the eruption of Soufrière Hills Volcano, creating an eerie yet fascinating modern-day ruin. Explore the island’s stunning black-sand beaches, lush rainforest trails, and the friendly community that remains resilient in the face of nature’s power.

As one of the Caribbean's most dramatic islands, Montserrat has always done things a little differently. While the rest of its neighbors were busy promoting tourism in its masses, Montserrat was content to sit back and stay in the (metaphorical) shadow. The island remains relatively undeveloped for the archipelago, with off-the-beaten-path beaches, hidden creeks and so much natural beauty that we fully expect this little island to soon become the next go-to eco-tourism destination. Much of Montserrat's discretion is because it is governed by seismic activity and has endured more volcanic eruptions than any other Caribbean island. These have earned it the nickname the "Pompeii of the Caribbean", understandably so, as much of the main city was covered in ash after the 1995 eruption. The cause of this is the mighty Soufriere Hills volcano, dormant since 2010 yet still spewing sulfur and smoke. However, it is not all doom and gloom, and Monserrat's other nickname is "the emerald isle", not only because of its lush verdant forests lined with lime trees and palms, but because its coasts bear a certain similarity to Ireland. And yes, Guinness is available! Montserratians are optimistic and fun loving, and Little Bay locals are the perfect example. Set at the very tip of the island, the town is intended as the new capital and is being enhanced with the modernity once would expect of such an honor. Little Bay Beach is without doubt one of the most beautiful in Caribbean and is a tonic for the soul.

The oldest town in St. Lucia and the island’s former French colonial capital, Soufrière was founded by the French in 1746 and named for its proximity to the volcano of the same name. The wharf is the center of activity in this sleepy town (population, 9,000), particularly when a cruise ship anchors in pretty Soufrière Bay. French colonial influences are evident in the second-story verandahs, gingerbread trim, and other appointments of the wooden buildings that surround the market square. The market building itself is decorated with colorful murals. Soufrière, the site of much of St. Lucia’s renowned natural beauty, is the destination of most sightseeing trips. This is where you can get up close to the iconic Pitons and visit colonial capital of St. Lucia, with its "drive-in" volcano, botanical gardens, working plantations, waterfalls, and countless other examples of the natural beauty for which St. Lucia is deservedly famous.

The smallest inhabited island in the Grenadines, Mayreau is a secluded paradise of powdery white sands, swaying palms, and turquoise waters. With no roads and just one small village, this hidden gem offers the perfect retreat for a day of relaxation and exploration.

The small island of Mayreau, just one and 1/2 square miles in area (3.9 square kilometres) is the smallest inhabited island of The Grenadines, and is part of the independent state of St.Vincent in the eastern Caribbean Sea. Two of the best known islands in The Grenadines are Mustique and Bequia, the second largest island in this group. The Grenadine Islands are strung out in a gentle sweep between St.Vincent and Grenada. Most visitors to Mayreau arrive from cruise ships, on the regular ferry, or by yacht. There are no proper roads on the island, only a few vehicles, no airport and only a single unnamed village. Mayreau and the neighboring Tobago Cays are very popular for divers and snorkellers. Saline Bay, on the west coast of the island, has a wonderful broad beach and a few local vendors selling T-shirts and local craft. A climb up the road to the hilltop village on the island provides breathtaking views across Mayreau, Canouan, the Tobago Cays and Carriacou.

A true Caribbean paradise, the Tobago Cays are a protected marine park made up of five uninhabited islands, fringed by vibrant coral reefs and teeming with marine life. Explore the crystal-clear waters by Zodiac, kayak or paddleboard, or dive in for an unforgettable snorkeling experience, where you may spot sea turtles gliding gracefully through the water.

Located beside the island’s only natural harbour, the capital of Barbados combines modern and colonial architecture with glorious palm tree-lined beaches and a number of historical attractions. Experience the relaxed culture of the city renowned for its British-style parliament buildings and vibrant beach life, and seek out the Anglican church and the 19th-century Barbados Garrison. The distance between the ship and your tour vehicle may vary. This distance is not included in the excursion grades.
