NCV offers a 11-day program featuring Norway's western fjords. Norway's beautiful fjord region lives forever in the heart of every person who experiences it. This region of rugged, mountainous coast is filled with lovely reflective inlets, stretching north from Bergen to the Jotunheimen alpine region. Begin your journey in Bergen, and continue through the various Norwegian towns and villages including the maritime Skudeneshavn, orchard-rich Hardanger, and the fjord settlement of Finnabotn. During your voyage there will be a knowledgeable tour guide organizing various on board activities, lectures and shore excursions, from fishing trips to hiking tours. From Flam board the Flam Railway, one of the world's most stunning train journeys. Before returning to Bergen, sail through the majestic Sognefjord, the spectacular Lysefjord and the breathtaking Hardangerfjord.

DAY 1 - Depart the U.S. (or your country of origin. If you are based outside North America, contact us and we will subtract airfare from rates).
This evening, depart the U.S. on your transatlantic flight to Bergen.

DAY 2-Arrive in Bergen- D
Late morning arrival in Bergen. Check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this Hanseatic city. Enjoy a three-course dinner in the evening.

DAY 3- BergenEmbarkation- B, D
After breakfast at your hotel and a day at leisure, embark in the afternoon on the MS Lofoten. Enjoy dinner on board as the ship sails south.

DAY 4- SkudeneshavnMosteroy B, L, D
The Lysefjord Stavanger. Today you'll begin with a visit to Skudeneshavn, an idyllic town with a collection of traditional maritime buildings. Later, anchor at Mosteroy Island, home to the 13th century Utstein Monastery. This evening, head southeast to the mountain region of Ryfylke for the beginning of your fjord adventure. Sail through the narrow Lysefjord, and enjoy the view of the Pulpit Rock, a well-known mountain ledge. Dock at Stavanger overnight.

DAY 5- StavangerHaugesund B, L, D The Hardangerfjord Rosendal.
Today, explore Stavanger, the capital of Norway's oil industry, where you'll find "Old Stavanger", a unique collection of timber houses dating to the 18th century. Sail north through the Karmsundet Strait before arriving in the town of Haugesund, known for its Sildajazz Festival. Continue into the Bomlafjord, passing the islands of Bomlo and Stord, towards Hardanger region, famous for its orchards. This afternoon, weather permitting, the Folgefonna Glacier will be visible. In the evening arrive in Rosendal, home to the Barony, a spectacular 17th century Renaissance style castle.

DAY 6- The Radfjord-The SognefjordBalestrand The Fjaerlandsfjord- B, L, D
Today, as you pass Bergen towards the Radfjord, through the narrowest part of the passage at Alversund, you will see the dazzling landscapes of the Radoy and Austrheim area. Continue to the impressive Sognefjord, longest and deepest fjord in the world, before visiting the lovely fjord village of Balestrand. In the afternoon sail to the spectacular Fjaerlandsfjord that stretches to the Josedalsbreen Glacier and its Boya and Supphelle arms. Dock at the fjord village of Fjaerland for the night.

DAY 7-FjaerlandThe Aurlandsfjord-The Naeroyfjord GudvangenFlam- B, L, D
In Fjaerland you can visit the Norwegian Glacier Museum and watch an impressive film about glaciers. Today, you'll sail through the Sognefjord, the orchards area of Leikanger, and the scenic Aurlandsfjord. Continue to the narrow Naeroyfjord, one of Europe's most scenic fjords that winds into the village of Gudvangen. This afternoon, dock at Flam for a journey to Myrdal on the Flam Railway, one of the world's most beautiful train trips.

DAY 8- FlamUndredalThe SognefjordThe Finnafjord- B, L, D
Depart Flam and head out of the Aurlandsfjord before stopping in the fjord village of Undredal, home to Norway's smallest parish church. Travel along the beautiful Sognefjord and the Finnafjord that stretches towards the mountain region of Stolsheimen. Dock at Finnabotn for the night.

DAY 9- Stadtlandet-Bulandet- B, L, D
Sail north to the southern side of scenic Stadtlandet, where you'll see the region's main attractions, the West Cape and the Selje Monastery. In the evening travel southwards through narrow straits, past islands and islets, passing by Floro and Bulandet, Norway's most westerly inhabited fishing villages. Spend the afternoon and evening in this idyllic island region where you can go fishing.

DAY 10- Bulandet-Bergen- B, L
Embark on the last leg of your journey towards Bergen through the narrow Steinsundet Strait, crossing the mouth of the Sognefjord, before entering the island kingdom of Oygarden at Fedje. The region's 12-thousand-year-old Stone Age settlements are testimonials to the fact that this area has long been inhabited. Disembark in Bergen and check in at your hotel. Afternoon at leisure.

DAY 11- Depart Bergen/Arrive in the U.S.- B (or your country of origin)
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Bergen Airport for your return flight to the U.S. (or your country of origin).
