Midnight
sun yoga
We
invite you to a 7-day yoga cruise on Norwegian Coastal Voyage's ship MS
Trollfjord departing Bergen July 7, 2006 (arriving Kirkenes July 13th
at 10:00). Make history and experience midnight-sun-yoga on deck. Stretch
while you view the fjords and mountains. The
hot-yoga sessions are led by Marilyn
Barnett, a certified Bikram yoga teacher, and a founder of Yoga Connection
Tribeca, New York City. Marilyn has been teaching yoga since 1995, and
has studied with Sandra Summerfield Kozak. She recently completed a prenatal
yoga teacher training with Mary Barnes. A former nurse and mother of two
wonderful children, she combines a passion for yoga and wellness with
her alignment-focused and nurturing teaching style. Marilyn's new book,
Hot Yoga: Energizing, Rejuvenating, Healing can be found in stores in
several countries.
Take
a journey on a guided path of exploring your physical body through hatha
yoga.
Become knowledgeable of your body, its basic structure and how it moves.
Learn proper skeletal alignment and joint use for taking a posture while
developing awareness of habitual posture patterns that inhibit change.
Start to learn how to relax and breathe while observing and following
the direction your body's innate intelligence. Begin to teach yourself
how to respond to the needs of the body verses reacting to the needs of
the mind as you allow a trust to develop between the mind and body and
they become responsible partners in your yoga practice. During practice
you will find and use your core, seeing how inner strength provides lightness
and freedom as you learn to gather the energy inside and radiate it outward.
Gain an
understanding of the purpose and effects of this physical practice and
how it benefits the body and mind while enhancing your own spiritual journey.
