ITINERARY


Day 1 - Buenos Aires, Argentina
Latin passion and European romance define the beautiful city of Buenos Aires, a dynamic city known for its wide-ranging architectural styles, contemporary and historic arts, and culinary gifts. Arrive at your hotel for your one-night stay.

Day 2 - Buenos Aires > Ushuaia
Your journey into wonder begins as you fly from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, known as the southernmost city in the world, where the crew will warmly greet you as you board Scenic Eclipse. Settle into your handsomely appointed suite and acquaint yourself with the luxurious facilities of your Discovery Yacht. Toast the start of your voyage at the welcome cocktail reception hosted by the Captain who will introduce your expert Discovery Leaders and their team. Set sail and cruise through the Beagle Channel and admire the dramatic views of the Andean mountains of Tierra del Fuego from the comfort of your private verandah.

Day 3 - At sea
Relax and enjoy the amazing facilities of your floating resort as you cruise towards the Antarctic Peninsula. An entertaining presentation by the Discovery Team in the state-of-the-art theatre will build up the excitement for what’s to come or relax in your suite and watch the live streaming on your TV.

Day 4 - At sea
Your palate will be delighted as you explore the extensive range of dining options on board, or a butler serves you your meal in-suite. The first sightings of icebergs and snow-capped mountains signal that you have reached the Antarctic Peninsula.

Day 5 - Antarctic Peninsula
Welcome to Antarctica! Seeing the 7th continent for the first time is unlike anything you would have experienced before. Feel the fresh, crisp air on your face and hear the snow crunch under your boot when you first step foot on land. Each new encounter will fill you will awe. Witness wildlife in their natural habitat, with no fear of humans. Antarctica is truly land of peace.  

Your expert Captain and crew will navigate some of the most beautiful waterways which may include traversing the stunning 11-kilometre-long Lemaire Channel where steep cliffs hem in the iceberg-filled passage just 700 metres wide at its narrowest point. There may be the chance to visit a working scientific base and discuss life in these harsh conditions with the staff. Enjoy the chance to visit areas alive with wildlife such as penguins, seals, and whales. You can also explore the remnants of a derelict whaling station and a vacant British base or climb to the rim of a volcanic crater. If conditions are favourable, there may be the opportunity to cross the Antarctic Circle at latitude 66°33’ South.  

Due to the extraordinary nature of the region, a host of choices are open and dependent on the ice and weather conditions. Your experienced Discovery Team Leaders, who have made countless journeys to Antarctica, will use their expertise to design your voyage from day to day, making the most of 18–20 hours of daylight.

Day 6 -8 - Antarctic Peninsula
Due to the extraordinary nature of the region, a host of choices are open and dependent on the ice and weather conditions.

Day 9 - At Sea
Scenic Eclipse’s opulent Senses Spa has spacious areas for reflection and relaxation. Discover the ancient art of Nordic bathing in the Scandinavian-inspired plunge pools and saunas. Enjoy daily entertainment, Scenic’s unrivalled culinary experiences, some quiet time in the Observatory Lounge & Library, all this and more is at your fingertips.

Day 10 - Cape Horn, Chile
The point where the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean meet, Cape Horn is steeped in maritime history and is the southernmost headland of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago and the southernmost tip of Chile. Weather permitting, our landing on Cape Horn will show the true skill of our Captain, crew, and the Discovery Team

Day 11 - Chilean Fjords
Enjoy days of cruising as you traverse the Chilean Fjords, offering views of tidewater glaciers and mountain peaks. Witness one of the most impressive glaciers, Seno Garibaldi, one of a handful of advancing glaciers. Continue to cruise down to Seno Pia Glacier and explore the labyrinth of ice crevasses and rivers.

Day 12 - Chilean Fjords
Enjoy days of cruising as you continue to traverse the Chilean Fjords.

Day 13 - Punta Arenas
Punta Arenas is at the southern extreme of Chile and serves as the gateway into Antarctica. The city will captivate you with its clean air, sophisticated European architecture and historical role during the California Gold Rush.  

Day 14 - Inner Fjords
Journey to one of the most spectacular locations in Southern Chile. Board a local catamaran and cruise into the Laguna San Rafael via a narrow opening revealing fantastic views of ice and the San Valentin Glacier. Visit a coastal village, located between the mouth of the Baker River, the largest river in Chile, and a small embayment of the Baker Channel. The surrounding geography is rugged, formed by a number of islands, fjords, channels and estuaries. Watch from the Sun Terrace, the Observation Terrace or your private verandah as the Captain and local Chilean Pilot expertly manoeuvre Scenic Eclipse through the majestic scenery and wildlife of the inner passages of the Chilean Channels.

Day 15-17 - Inner Fjords
Continue to explore the Inner Fjords.

Day 18 - At sea
While you sail towards Tortel, there will be plenty of time to relax and be entranced by the picturesque scenery you’ll encounter on your way.  

Day 19 - Castro
Visit Castro, located on the island of Chiloé. Be charmed by its natural beauty, flanked by a fjord on the east and home to Chiloé National Park where an abundance of wildlife species thrives on the west coast. Catch a glimpse of the Chiloé Island Penguin Colony as Magellanic and Humboldt penguin migrate to the region. Stroll through the city streets and discovery the city’s many UNESCO World Heritage churches, known for their ecclesiastical wooden architecture. .

Day 20 - Puerto Montt
At the very end of the Pan American highway is Puerto Montt, which is the starting point of a fabled land of fjords, canals, islands, snow-capped volcanoes, green-forested hills, and the enchantment of Southern Chile. Uncover culinary delights at Angelmó cove known for its fresh seafood, take in views of Tenglo Island and Calbuco Volcano. Puerto Montt is the perfect launch pad to explore the German cities of Frutillar and Puerto Varas.

Day 21 - At sea
Today, relax on board in 6-star luxury. Choose one of the daily activities including a class in Scenic Epicure, join an entertaining discussion in the theatre, or make time for your own fitness regime.

Day 22 - Valparaíso
dating back to the conquistadors. This vibrant city is rich in theatre, music, performance and street art and exquisite Victorian architecture.

Day 23 - At sea
After a restorative night of rest in your ultra-luxury suite, wake on your own time. The day is yours to spend exactly as you wish. Perhaps ask your butler for breakfast in bed, or enjoy a quiet morning spent on your sumptuous verandah to soak in the tropical sun.

By the afternoon, begin your discovery of the indulgent spaces onboard Scenic Eclipse. Indulge in the 550m2 Senses Spa reinvigorating your mind body and soul. Access to the spa facilities is all included with only spa treatments* at an additional cost.

Day 24 - Robinson Crusoe Island
Located within the Juan Fernandez Archipelago, the volcanic wonderland of Robinson Crusoe Island will enchant you just as it did Daniel Defoe, who immortilised the island in his famous book, published in 1719. True to its description in the story, the island is a captivating lost paradise where you will swim in crystal-clear waters and discover its diverse and rich array of flora represented by more than 130 endemic species, including the spectacular Juan Fernández Firecrown and the tiny Juan Fernandez Tit-tyrant.

This afternoon join a Pirate Party, and enjoy local music, snacks and drinks.

Day 25 - Alexander Selkirk Island
Named after the marooned sailor, Alexander Selkirk Island is the largest in the Juan Fernández Archipelago. Densely wooded and marked by ranges and deep ravines that lead to a sheer, rugged coast, a visit here promises a dramatic and truly unforgettable experience. Be amazed by the striking volcanic landscape and its unique biodiversity where a number of rare and endangered plant and bird species can be found, such as the Juan Fernández Orchid and the critically endangered bird, Masafuera Rayadito.

Day 26 - At sea
Freshly squeezed juice, steaming barista-made coffee or tea delivered to your door by your butler will help you start your day just the way you like it. As Scenic Eclipse continues her sail on the open ocean, enjoy an al fresco lunch today at the Yacht Club for delightfully created courses and a chance to meet your fellow voyagers. Spend the afternoon at leisure in your luxurious suite or in the temperature-controlled Vitality pool on Deck 10 before choosing one of up to 10 dining experiences for this evening.

Day 27 - At sea
Surrounded by vast ocean, today continue refining the art of relaxation on board Scenic Eclipse. Your personal butler is always on call and can bring morning breakfast, afternoon tea or cocktails to your private verandah if you wish to stay in, the perfect activity while marvelling at the endless open ocean. Then watch a movie from the comfort of your signature Scenic Slumber Bed, fitted with exquisitely soft Egyptian cotton sheets.

Day 28 - At sea
Today, check your Daily Wonder and join one of the many talks, demonstrations or workshops hosted by Scenic’s experts on board. For a culinary masterclass, Scenic Épicure on Deck 5 will leave you an expert. Or be enthralled by Head Sommelier who could host a wine tasting, taking guests through a curated journey of the ship’s wine collection. Note that numbers are limited for all classes held in Scenic Épicure and require a booking once on board.

Day 29 - At sea
What better way to soak up the enormity of the Atlantic Ocean passing by than with a drink in hand. Settle in at any one of the nine spacious bars and lounges across Scenic Eclipse to enjoy your beverage of choice. And with Scenic’s signature all-inclusive ultra-luxury promise, indulge in top shelf spirits, over 100 whiskies, a premium wine list and French champagne.
The Observation Lounge and Terrace occupies a commanding position at the bow of the ship on Deck 5 and is the perfect place for a specialty tea or coffee while reading a book, playing a board game and watching the world float by.

Day 30 - Hanga Roa (Easter Island)
Uncover the secrets of Easter Island with its mysterious and enigmatic past. From astonishing volcanic terrain to imposing archaeological sites, Easter Island presents a unique exploration full of history and adventure. Today you will discover a selection of the 600 volcanic stone figures, or Moai, and ancient petroglyphs that dot the island’s green hillsides. Today, choose one of our Scenic Freechoice activities or join a more active Scenic Discovery excursion.

Day 31 - Hanga Roa (Easter Island)
Rise early and watch the sunrise over the Moai statues at Ahu Tongariki, with spectacular mountain and ocean views behind them – a pure photographer’s delight. Today, choose one of our Scenic Freechoice activities or join a more active Scenic Discovery excursion.

Day 32 - At sea
The state-of-the-art theatre on Deck 4 is the hub for on board entertainment. The advanced cinemascope technology and multiple viewing screens create an immersive 270-degree experience, complete with a sparkly night sky ceiling. You’ll be sitting in supremely comfortable reclining lounge chairs and a full range of drinks is available from the attentive waiters.
During the day, the theatre hosts talks and lectures from the Discovery Team, as well as movies and documentaries. At night, it transforms into a glittering entertainment venue showcasing professional-quality productions from musical theatre and cabaret to pop music, dance and fun interactive game shows. Take a closer look at the cast and you might recognise some of your favourite crew showing their talent on stage.

Day 33 - At sea
Take a moment to yourself this morning and soak in the comforts of your luxuriously appointed suite your very own 6-star hotel. Ask your butler to bring breakfast to your suite, where you can enjoy it on the verandah as the deep blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean slip by outside.
Visit the Sky Bar and outdoor Vitality pool on Deck 10. Step into the tranquil Senses Spa on Deck 6 with its steam rooms, saunas, plunge pool and Vitality Thermal Lounge. Stop for a coffee or a cocktail at one of the nine bars and lounges on board. Curl up with a good book in the library of the Observation Lounge or take one with you and find the hanging egg chairs on Deck 7.

Day 34 - At sea
Continue your journey of rejuvenation onboard Scenic Eclipse. For relaxation and wellbeing at sea, the indulgent Senses Spa awaits on Deck 6. This expansive 550m2 gold-leaf emblazoned spa is like nothing you’ll see on other cruise ships. Inside this luxurious retreat you can be pampered with a range of holistic ESPA treatments* including massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. A range of alternative therapies are also on offer, like Japanese shiatsu, Indian Ayurvedic massage and Tibetan bowl sound healing, which is said to produce a healing energy that can relieve stress and pain and promote wellbeing. There’s also a hair and beauty salon within the spa if you need a touch up.

Day 35 - Pitcairn Island, British Polynesia
Located halfway between New Zealand and Chile, Pitcairn Island boasts untouched subtropical ecosystems, rugged coastlines and endemic flora, bird and marine life. One of the most remote communities on earth, it is home to just 50 locals, direct descendants of the Bounty mutineers who arrived on Pitcairn in 1790.

Day 36 - Rikitea, Gambier Islands
A small, isolated group of coral reef islands in the southeast extreme of the Tuamotu archipelago, the Gambier Islands boast lush, green landscapes surrounded by exquisite blue and green lagoons that are as clear as air. Adding to the allure are the famous Tahitian black pearls, which are cultivated in the pristine waters around the island.
Discover St Michel of Rikitea Church, made entirely of fired limestone and inlaid with iridescent mother-of pearl, and explore archaeological relics made of coral stone on a walking tour of the town.  

Day 37 - At sea
After a couple of days of exploring, this morning it’s time to regale in your journey. Ask your butler to bring your morning coffee, then gather your new friends for a gym session in the state-of-the art POWER:gym, and end with a deeply healing Tibetan Sound Bowl Meditation Class before heading off to a sumptuous lunch together. Share photos and travel experiences as you recall your favourite memories from these awe-inspiring weeks on the sea traversing continents.

Day 38 - At sea
Tomorrow’s sensational port of call awaits, so perhaps take the day to enjoy at a slow pace at the Vitality Pool or in one of the shaded oceanfront cabanas. You might decide to have dinner delivered by your butler to your ultra-luxury suite, or return to your favourite restaurant with your new friends or indulge this evening partaking in Chefs Table at Epicure for a masterclass in fine dining.
Enjoy a nightcap in one of the up to nine bars and lounges and arrange for your butler to bring you coffee in your suite the next morning.

Day 39 - Fakarava, French Polynesia
Fakarava is home to the second largest lagoon in the Tuamotu Atolls and is a protected UNESCO Biosphere Reserve for many rare and endemic species of wildlife, birds and flora.
Today, enjoy a special event on the beach. Board a Zodiac and go ashore for a private beach event with some people from the local community. Listen to the traditional music as you enjoy your final day in paradise.

Day 40 - Papeete, Tahiti
A vibrant city, Papeete boasts an eclectic and fascinating mix of landscapes and culture. Disembark after breakfast and transfer to the airport or hotel.

Day 5-8 Antarctic Peninsula
Discovery
Partake in daily Scenic Discovery excursions. Cruise on the Zodiacs around ice formations, step onto islands to view vast penguin rookeries and seals. Kayak and stand-up paddle board around icebergs and hear the ice cracking and whales feeding below.

Day 13 - Punta Arenas

Join a local guide for a walking tour of Punta Arenas, or visit Magdalena Island and see one of the largest penguin colonies in southern Chile. Choose to step back in time with a visit to the Nao Victoria’s full-size replica of the Magellan’s ship at Salesian Museum or visit an estancia and discover a new way of life.

Day 17 - Inner Fjords

Continue to explore the Inner Fjords.

Day 19 - Castro
Today, choose one of our Scenic Freechoice activities or join a more active Scenic Discovery excursion.

Travel to the Chiloé National Park and walk the Tepual pathway through a forest of tepu.

Day 24 - Robinson Crusoe Island
Discovery
Hike to Centinela hill, walking through an endemic forest lined with Chilean myrtle, cinnamon trees and naranjillos. Alternatively, hear the legends of pirates and treasure as you walk through critically endangered temperate sub-tropical woodlands in the World Heritage Biosphere Reserve.

This afternoon join a Pirate Party, and enjoy local music, snacks and drinks.

Day 25 - Alexander Selkirk Island
Discovery
Glide through the waters in a kayak, stand-up paddleboard at leisure or enjoy hikes around the island.

Day 35 - Pitcairn Island, British Polynesia
Discovery
Enjoy a guided hike around the steep coastline of harsh, black lava, witnessing the tallest point or seeing St. Paul's Pool. Perhaps walk around the capital of Pitcairn Island, Adamstown, or visit the historic Christian’s Cave. Alternatively join a guided Quad Bike tour to explore the island.

Enrich
Later today visit a local community and see ancient Polynesian artefacts at the Pitcairn Museum. You may even wish to purchase your very own keepsake at Pitkern Artisan Gallery, before meeting Ms Turpen, the islands only remaining Galapagos turtle.

Day 39 - Fakarava, French Polynesia
