    ITINERARY

    DAY 1
    Reykjavík
    Capital of Iceland
Packed full of art, culture and history, Reykjavík is well worth your time discovering, either before or after your cruise to Greenland.
Take a stroll along Laugavegur with its boutiques and outdoor shops, head to the striking Hallgrímskirkja church or fascinating Reykjavík Art Museum. Or why not book a Pre-Programme with us and discover the stunning waterfalls, hot springs, geysers and national parks found nearby.
MS Fram awaits you in Reykjavík Harbour. Your adventure has begun.

    DAY 2
    At Sea
    Crossing the Denmark Strait
Today we sail to Greenland across the Denmark Strait.
Your Expedition Team will explain the protocols of visiting wildlife habitats, and how we interact with the Indigenous Arctic communities respectfully. In the Science Center, you can learn more about Greenland's geology, or join one of our Citizen Science projects. Why not hit the gym orrelax in the panoramic sauna before enjoying a delicious meal in one of our onboard restaurants.

    DAY 3-11
    Scoresby Sund fjord system
    Largest fjord system on Earth
You’ll spend the next nine days exploring the vast wilderness of Scoresby Sund, the world’s largest fjord system.
Cruising peacefully against a backdrop of looming mountains, blue icebergs and mirror-like waters, you’ll seek out wildlife like whales and Greenlandic Gyrfalcons. Making the most of the conditions, we pack in as many shore landings, nature walks, kayaking tours and wildlife sightings as possible.
You’ll visit Ittoqqortoormiit – the most remote inhabited community in the Western Hemisphere, and if conditions allow, we’ll sail towards the ever-changing east Greenland Sea ice edge to scout for wildlife.
If you want to do your bit, you can participate in Citizen Science projects that help preserve the region for future generations.

    INCLUDED
Visit the only permanent settlement in the Scoresby Sound region.

    DAY 12
    Denmark Strait
    Heading back to Iceland
After exploring the remote beauty of Greenland, we set our course back for Iceland. Spend the days at sea recapping your experiences with new friends, studying nature in the Science Center, listening to a lecture or two, or just relaxing on deck. Look out for the seabirds that follow our ship and keep an eye out for whales.
As you reflect on your cruise, from witnessing the delicate ecology of the fjord systems to the ethereal elegance of the floating ice, east Greenland’s beauty is sure to have left its mark on you.

    DAY 13
    Reykjavík
    End of the expedition
We say a fond farewell to MS Fram as we end where we started, in the fabulous city of Reykjavík. Why not visit the places you may have missed when you arrived. With its stylish galleries, restaurants and geothermal pools, there’s so much to enjoy in Reykjavík.
And if you want to discover more of Iceland, you can join our optional Post-Programme to tour the south of the country before you head home. Or simply extend your stay to enjoy more of Reykjavík and its surrounding geothermal attractions. It’s a great place to end an epic journey.

    MS Fram (Expedition, 200-guests)

MS Fram is purpose built as an expedition vessel with a higher ice-class, chart drawing tools, ship depth sounding database, extractable forward sounding sonar, iceberg search lights, autonomous tracking system, oversized oil retention system for self-sufficiency, and a full 'expedition tools-deck' equivalent to a car-deck that holds 25 vehicles. We believe that as an explorer you need an 'expedition base-camp' that is comfortable - something that combines 'all oceans capabilities' with safety, flexibility and environmental friendliness. That's Fram - simply the best expedition ship imaginable.
